Hello! I'm a mixed media artist who just so happens to make her home on the prairies of South Dakota and I love creating art.

I am passionate about creating things that inspire, transform, and nurture the world around us. There is nothing more intimate or more personal than a handcrafted piece of art; especially when it conveys our heart's message.

I have discovered that I am an intuitive artist. While I start out with an overall idea or project in mind, I am not rigid about sticking to a set of artistic rules. I like to allow my sub-conscious (or intuition) to be a part of the working process. I create what feels right at the time I am creating, then I sit back and ponder what I've created. Is the work done? Does it still need something? Have I conveyed the message I set out to convey? If not, I let the piece sit. If so, I know I am done and will then journal about the piece or the experience.

When I sell my art, it's like giving a part of myself to the buyer. Sometimes, it's hard to let go the the things I create but when I see the pleasure someone else gets from my work, I feel as though my purpose has been fulfilled. And when I am commissioned to provide a gift for someone special, it is as though I've given the recipient a part of the giver, too. For the giver may not have created the piece with her (or his) own two hands, but she helped create the piece with her insights, her dreams, and her wishes for the piece. And that's what makes custom designed art so special!

Currently, I create greeting cards, postcards, and coffee mugs for my shop on Zazzle. I also create hand painted vases from recycled glass, custom canvas collages, and framed artwork. Finally, I am in the process of putting together a collection of photographs to be sold, on disc, for use in mixed media art projects and hope to have this project completed by 2010.
