How To Order A DVD Slideshow
- Print and fill out our order form.
This contract will explain my procedure and clarify the terms of service. It is a binding agreement between both parties so please
make sure you take the time to read it. Once you've read the contract and signed it, put together your package (steps below) and mail
the contract, along with your materials, to the address provided on the contract.
- Pick a theme for your DVD.
- Tell us your musical preferences.
To avoid copyright issues, I have opted to use royalty-free music that has been specifically purchased for use with DVD slideshows.
By providing us with your musical preferences (i.e. jazz, classical, rock, etc.) we can select music that fits both the style of your
DVD and your musical tastes.
To see the current list of purchased licenses or to learn how you can order your own music click here.
- Pick photos and memorabilia that stick to your theme.
Label and number each photo according to the sequence you'd like them to appear in your DVD slideshow. The best way to label your
photos is to include a sticky note on the back of each photo, stack them in order, and pack all photos into a box. Label box
"fragile - photos enclosed."
- Pick photos and memorabilia that are in good condition.
When choosing images, stick to horizontal (landscape view) images whenever possible because they don’t leave empty space on the screen.
Find photos that are:
- in focus,
- are not grainy,
- don’t have lighting issues (too dark or too bright),
- don’t have busy backgrounds,
- don’t have water damage, etc.
If you use an image photographed by a professional photographer, a written letter of consent must be provided with the image before I can use the image.
Do not send print pictures that are larger than a traditional 8x10 photo.
When sending images on CD, make sure they are saved at 300 pixels or higher.
Don’t forget to remove all images from frames before mailing.
- Choose your images based on the package you've purchased.
Send double the images the package requests in case some images are unrepairable and look blurred on the screen. But make sure to place
the extra images in a separate manilla envelope and label it "extra photos".
- Share your memories.
* This option only applies to the "Historical Package".
Let me know if you want a little description at the bottom of each image, a little story told before each image, or if you’d just
like the images shown.
If you the people in the photos identified, include the name of each person.
If the place or event holds a special memory for you and you want it mentioned, provide information.
Once you have the information you want written down, place each image/item along with appropriate note sheet in its own envelope.
(Keep the ink side of the note sheet away from your photo. It’s best not to write on the images themselves so that the ink doesn’t
bleed and ruin the pictures.)
Number the envelopes in the order you would like the pictures/images to appear in your slideshow.
- Give me your closing credits.
- Include Your Payment
Before I begin work on your slideshow I need to receive payment.
If paying by cashier's check or money order, include it with the material above.
If paying by credit card, I will send you a link, via email, to a secure website to make payment.
- Deliver Your Photos
Send your package via United States Postal Service certified mail/return receipt, Fed-Ex, or UPS. Don't forget to label
your package "fragile - photos enclosed."
- Await Arrival
An slideshow will take a minimum of 2 to 4 weeks to complete.
